The swiss airline Edelweiss will increase its direct flights to Cuba, will be two weekly flights starting from next October as part of its winter operations, according to the Ministry of Tourism (MINTUR).
The additional flight of Edelweiss wil be on Monday and the new frequency will allow more tourists from Switzerland and Europe in general to Havana, said MINTUR.
The Swiss company operates from May 2014, a weekly flight (Thursday) that connects Zurich and Havana, with aircraft type Air Bus A-330-300, which can accommodate 300 passengers.
International tourism is the second source of income of the Cuban government, behind the export of professional services, mainly doctors.
